5 top tips to speed up your Figma workflow

30 May 2025

Our designers have put together some small but awesome tips on how to work faster in Figma.

We all love a shortcut

A few Figma shortcuts that we use regularly and find saves a lot of time are:

Instant Eyedropper:

Select a shape where you want to change color and press "i" on the keyboard to activate an Eyedropper.

Press i

Auto Layout:

Select your elements and press shift A and it converts it to an auto layout container

Press Shift + A

Switch stroke and fill style:

Change the fill colour to the stroke colour and vice versa.

Press Shift + X

Paste to replace

Quickly swap out assets or add in components by replacing selected objects with another object that you’ve copied to your clipboard.

Press Shift + ⌘ + R

Reuse styles

Along with duplicating an element, we can copy the style. It’s super helpful when we want to overwrite an element in a component.

Press Option + ⌘ + C to copy

Press Option + ⌘ + V to paste

Inserting multiple images at once

Batch insert multiple images into any shape, speeding up your process

Press ”⌘ + Shift + K”

Select your images

Drop them on any type of layers

Show outlines

Figma’s X-ray vision allows you to inspect, select, and adjust hidden and nested layers. This can be useful when aligning objects or creating and merging organic shapes together.

Press ⌘ + Y
